Clinical Bioinformatics Analyst


Blueprint Genetics is on a mission to bring world-class genetic knowledge to mainstream healthcare. Next generation sequencing (NGS) produces large quantities of data, requiring highly efficient computing infrastructure and data analysis pipelines. To meet the challenges imposed by our rapid growth, we are looking for a Clinical Bioinformatics Scientist to join our Clinical Bioinformatics Team.

Our constantly evolving diagnostic portfolio currently includes over 200 tests that cover a wide variety of clinical specialties and diagnostic approaches, including Whole Exome Sequencing. Job description

In this position you are one of the NGS experts of the company. You work in a versatile role in our Clinical Group in the cross-section of our Bioinformatics, Interpretation, Lab R&D, Software Development and Data Science teams. Your daily tasks involve taking deep dives into the NGS data of patients to help our geneticists to solve bioinformatically challenging patient cases. You work closely with Bioinformatics R&D team and you participate in development and testing of new laboratory assays, bioinformatic tools and pipeline updates. Clinical Bioinformatics Scientist also performs bioinformatic analyses in custom research projects with our customers.


  • PhD in Bioinformatics or related field
  • Work experience (>3 years) in NGS data analysis projects is required 
  • Intermediate skills in scripting/programming (e.g. Python, bash, R) is required. Experience in cloud computing is an asset.
  • Experience with latest bioinformatic tools and genetic variant/bioinformatic databases is required
  • Experience in working under certified and accredited quality management systems is an asset
  • Fluent skills in oral and written English are a necessity
