Our global team is growing rapidly, and we are looking for a Financial Controller to join us in strengthening our finance operations in Espoo, Finland.
Job Description
As a Financial Controller, your main responsibility is to oversee the statutory accounting and taxation of Finnish legal entity together with internal and external partners. You will ensure the quality and accuracy of statutory reporting, alignment to corporate accounting policies, and develop our local accounting processes and related control points. You will maintain strong internal control and business ethics environment and provision of clear and robust guidance to rest of organization on accounting policies and treatments. You have the ability to represent the company to external authorities and the business community when called upon. In this position, you will work closely with our local operations and co-operate with our parent company Quest Diagnostics’ counterparties in the US. Our international presence will from time-to-time require some flexibility with working hours to meet different time zone requirements.
You will join a team of seven dedicated finance professionals with diverse backgrounds, who are always willing to go the extra mile and support one another. You will have the opportunity to have a meaningful impact on how finance processes are built in a global, fast-growing life sciences company.
Your main tasks will include:
- Overseeing all accounting activities to ensure that financial statements are accurate, produced in a timely manner and are in accordance with accounting standards
- Leading a team of 1-3 employees and coordinating work with external accountant
- Producing external reporting and filings as needed e.g. balance sheet specifications for parent company
- Developing accounting strategy and providing financial leadership including financial policies for the organization
- Ensuring FAS/US Gaap compliance
- Providing oversight over multiple finance activities, including technical accounting, reporting and guidance on complex accounting issues
- Recommending financial systems improvements
- Supporting continuous process improvement
- Developing and designs the reporting process and the reporting forms
- Facilitating internal and external financial audits and representing the company to external authorities and the business community when called upon

Our ideal candidate would have:
- An applicable university degree in finance, accounting or other relevant subject, MBA or Advanced Business degree desired
- 5+ years of relevant working experience, preferably in finance or accounting, background in auditing is a plus
- Familiar with statutory reporting FAS/IFRS
- Prior experience in cloud ERP is required
- Clear and coherent communication style
- Fluent in English and Finnish, both spoken and written
- Team management skills
- Overall understanding of multiple finance processes and how they translate into full PL line items.

This is a full-time, permanent position. Preferably, you would join us at our office in Espoo, Finland, but flexible remote work is also possible.
