I joined Blueprint Genetics in early 2017 after completing my Ph.D. degree in Medical Genetics at the University of Helsinki. My thesis work focused on utilizing next-generation sequencing technology to discover novel genetic defects that contribute to tumor development. My research has been published in highly prestigious journals such as Science, The New England Journal of Medicine, and Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS).
At Blueprint Genetics I work as a Geneticist in the Clinical Interpretation Team. My main responsibilities include interpretation of complex genetic data and writing clinical reports. One of the most fascinating aspects of this job is bringing the latest scientific knowledge into clinical use. This type of work is perfect for people who want to help patients directly while also being up to date with the latest science. I am very excited to be part of this rapidly evolving environment in which I get to collaborate with professionals of diverse backgrounds – be it business, computer science, or medicine.
