Alicia Scocchia
Clinical Liaison – Clinical InterpretationI’m a licensed and board-certified genetic counselor with a variety of experience working in the US and Canada. I received a Master of Science in human genetics from Sarah Lawrence College and maintain certification through the American Board of Genetic Counseling. Prior to joining Blueprint Genetics, I provided clinical genetic counseling in oncology, population health screening, and tele-genetic consultation settings. I also have experience performing case analysis, variant interpretation, and report writing for a whole genome sequencing test for individuals with rare disease, supporting product development of software tools aiding genomic services, and teaching research curriculum while providing thesis project coordination and mentorship for genetic counseling graduate students.
As part of the Clinical Genetics Support team at Blueprint, my daily responsibilities include helping to address the unique genetic testing needs of clinicians and their patients, providing clinical and technical education, and leading clinical research efforts. Serving the global community in this role is so interesting and rewarding. The best part of my job is that I get to work with the best team of very kind and thoughtful humans every day! We are constantly learning with and from each other and having good laughs together. The team truly has the patients’ best interests at heart.
