We want to improve the lives of individuals and families impacted by inherited diseases. We are looking for an experienced Commercial Director to strengthen our global commercial operations.
About the role
We have a comprehensive genetic testing catalog to cover 14 disease categories in addition to whole exome sequencing. As Commercial Director, you will play a key role in driving our sales excellence and business growth. Leading a team of Account Executives across Europe, the Middle East, Asia Pacific and Africa, you'll leverage your proven sales leadership experience, strategic thinking, and ability to drive revenue in competitive markets.
You will be joining our commercial team, working alongside sales professionals from around the globe, and collaborate with departments such as Sales Ops, Finance, Marketing, Product Development and Operations to align sales strategies with overall business objectives to achieve results.
This role will report directly to Managing Director, Global Markets based in California, US. Our office is based in Espoo, Finland, but the position can be performed remotely from Sweden, Norway, Germany, Spain or Estonia. This is a full-time, permanent position.
Key responsibilities
- Sales Strategy and Planning: Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve revenue targets and market share growth. Define sales objectives, key performance indicators (KPIs), and sales plans aligned with the company's overall business goals.
- Team Leadership: Lead, coach, and mentor a high-performing sales team, fostering a culture of continuous development and success. Set clear targets, monitor progress, and provide ongoing training to optimize team performance.
- Client Acquisition and Relationship Management: Drive new business opportunities by prospecting, qualifying leads, and converting them into customers.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers at target organizations.
- Sales process optimization and forecasting: Collaborate with Sales Ops to streamline the sales process and implement tools and technologies to streamline the sales cycle. Provide regular reports and sales forecasts to senior management.
- Market Intelligence and Competitive Analysis: Stay informed about market trends, conduct competitive analysis and identify differentiation strategies to support growth initiatives.
- Collaboration with Internal Stakeholders: Collaborate cross-functionally to align sales strategies with overall business objectives. Provide insights and feedback to support product enhancements and identify market needs.
- Sales Training & Enablement: Create and deliver training programs to enhance the sales team’s product knowledge and sales techniques, empowering them to succeed.
- Industry Expertise & Networking: Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and client meetings, expanding your professional network and staying informed on industry trends and regulations.

Our ideal candidate has
- 10+ years of commercial leadership experience, ideally within the genetics or life sciences space.
- Proven track record of driving revenue growth and achieving sales targets
- Executive level leadership experience in a global business with the ability to influence decision making.
- Experience and genuine desire leading a team and people is essential
- Strong skills in business planning and global scale project management
- Demonstrated ability to present to C-suite decision makers
- Ability to adjust shifting priorities and business needs
- Travel commitment up to 50 to 60 %.
- Occasional flexibility with working hours to meet different time zone requirements.
