People Ops Specialist
Are you an experienced People Ops Generalist ready to thrive in a fast-paced, international environment? Do you want to make a real impact in a global organization at the forefront of life sciences and healthcare? If so, we’d love to hear from you!
About the Role
As a People Operations Specialist, you’ll be part of a dynamic and collaborative People Ops team where no two days are alike. We’re looking for a hands-on generalist who’s comfortable juggling a variety of tasks across the entire employee lifecycle—from recruitment and onboarding to learning & development, compensation, and HR systems.
You’ll play a key role in shaping an outstanding employee experience while supporting employees and people leaders across our global organization. In this permanent, full-time position, you'll be based in Finland, joining a supportive local team of three People Ops professionals, with regular collaboration across our global HR team. You'll report to our People Ops Manager in Finland.
This is an exciting opportunity to grow, take ownership, and be a true partner in driving both day-to-day operations and long-term HR initiatives.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Delivering high-quality, day-to-day HR support to employees and managers, ensuring smooth onboarding and offboarding experiences.
- Administering and optimizing HR tools and systems (e.g., HRIS), ensuring data accuracy, compliance, and usability.
- Acting as a backup for payroll processing, including time reporting, bonuses, reimbursements, and leave management.
- Supporting role and compensation reviews and partnering with our QARA and legal teams on compliance and policy matters.
- Coordinating learning & development initiatives, including employee training and onboarding programs.
- Supporting managers in performance management
- Supporting end-to-end recruitment together with hiring managers: job ad creation, sourcing, interviewing, and process development.
- Maintaining HR administration such as employment agreements and employee records.
- Collaborating with our North American People Ops team to support colleagues across the Atlantic when needed.
- Leveraging your analytical mindset to develop HR metrics and reporting practices.
We believe you’ll be a great fit if
You’re someone who thrives in an ever-evolving environment and loves the variety that a generalist role offers. You’re approachable, organized, and proactive—and you're just as comfortable with strategic projects as you are with administrative tasks. You're a collaborative team player, but you also enjoy owning your areas of responsibility and taking initiative. We hope you enjoy working in a global, highly regulated, matrixed environment and you are comfortable navigating ambiguity. Additionally, you’re the type of person who has their door always open, you genuinely care about our employees and want to be there for them, whether they’re working in the office or remotely. You have an eye for detail and take pride in delivering high-quality, people-centered work and you’re committed to fostering a culture of belonging and engagement in everything you do.
What We’re Looking For
- Solid experience in a versatile HR generalist role, ideally in an international setting.
- Experience in working in a highly regulated field is considered an asset.
- Strong knowledge of Finnish employment law, collective agreements, and payroll basics. Experience with other European labor markets is a plus.
- Familiarity with HRIS, ATS and employee survey tools.
- Excellent communication skills in both Finnish and English (spoken and written).
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in HR, business, or a related field.
- A structured approach to work, with great organizational and time-management abilities.
- Flexibility to occasionally adjust working hours to collaborate with global colleagues.
- A preference for working on-site, where you can contribute to our culture and support colleagues in person.
What We Offer
- A varied, hands-on HR role in a small but agile People Ops team that values collaboration, learning, and mutual support.
- The opportunity to work in an international company that makes a real difference – Blueprint Genetics has a clear and motivating purpose to improve the lives of patients and families affected by inherited diseases.
- A positive, open, and international work environment with great people from diverse fields of expertise. We are a team of 250 experienced professionals who collaborate to drive genetic knowledge forward.
- Flexible working conditions and employee benefits such as participation in a performance-based bonus system, extensive occupational healthcare with Heltti, sports, culture & wellbeing benefits, team events, and office parties.
