We are looking for an Inventory Specialist to work closely together with our Laboratory, Laboratory development and R&D teams and collaborate with several teams across the organization.
Your tasks will include
In this position, your main responsibility is managing the materials storage of our genetics laboratory. You track inventory levels, transfer materials between warehouses, create purchase orders and receive delivered materials. You inspect and put away the received materials to their correct locations in the laboratory. You use your knowledge of logistics to support our operations, and you have an organized way of working to manage and plan your workday efficiently. You actively work together with our laboratory colleagues finding ways to ensure efficient and smooth material flows. Your daily work will consist of:
- Receiving deliveries and recording goods receipts
- Creating purchase orders and sending them to suppliers.
- Ensuring ordered materials arrive on time.
- Inspecting, labeling and putting away materials to their assigned storage places
- Investigating and reconciling any inventory discrepancies, receipt exceptions, shipping issues or damaged material
- Maintaining on-hand inventory at laboratory workstations
- Ensuring material consumption is recorded correctly
- Performing and recording monthly inventory counts
- Creating transfer orders for materials from an external warehouse
- Communicating with suppliers or service providers via email and phone mainly in English and Finnish
- Maintaining and developing work instructions and processes of own responsibility area as needed
What we expect from you
We are looking for a positive team player with the ability to work proactively and independently. You enjoy teamwork, and you have solid communication skills. You thrive in a fast-paced and evolving environment managing multiple priorities. You like doing work with your hands, unpacking and putting away shipments. We promise to provide you with the necessary on-the-job training to get you started, and you will have the full support of our laboratory colleagues who have worked on materials management tasks along the way.
- A Vocational or bachelor's degree preferably in logistics, supply chain management or similar relevant field
- Previous experience in a logistics, inventory management or purchasing role
- Excellent written and spoken English skills. Finnish skills and proficiency in other languages are seen as an asset
- Excellent problem-solving skills and time management skills, with strong attention to detail
- Positive mindset, proactive hands-on way of working and enthusiasm to learn
- Ability to work fully onsite in Keilaniemi, Espoo
- Ability to do physical work such as lifting boxes and reaching up to shelves
- Strong skills with MS Office tools. Experience using ERP systems (e.g. Oracle Netsuite, SAP) an advantage.
