Senior Fullstack Developer
Are you a Senior Fullstack Developer who thrives on AI-assisted and agentic engineering practices, and wants to use them to build technology that truly makes a difference? Do you want to help design, build and modernize the software platforms that power a clinical genetic testing laboratory, in a global organization at the forefront of life sciences and healthcare? If you answered yes, this position might be for you.
Blueprint Genetics, a Quest Diagnostics company, is a clinical genetic testing company aspiring to bring genetic knowledge to mainstream healthcare to benefit patients with rare inherited diseases worldwide. To support our rapid growth and constant strive for state-of-the-art software solutions, we are looking for a Senior Fullstack Developer to join our Solution Engineering team in Espoo, Finland.
Job Description
In this position you will be part of the Solution Engineering team, and will also work closely with our Bioinformatics, Clinical Bioinformatics, Data Science, Product and IT Operations/DevSecOps teams. You work in a versatile role, building and maintaining the web platforms our lab, clinicians and geneticists rely on every day, spanning test ordering and case management, laboratory operations, clinical interpretation, and internal knowledge management tools.
You will have a central role in modernizing and integrating these platforms and in helping the team adopt strong engineering, DevSecOps and AI-assisted development practices across a growing, cloud-native stack. Your work will include full-stack feature development, cloud infrastructure-as-code, and helping ensure our production software efficiently and securely supports clinical operations in a regulated environment.
Your main tasks will include:
- Design, build and maintain features across our web platforms, spanning customer- and clinician-facing ordering and case-management flows, laboratory operations tooling, and clinical interpretation software
- Work across the full stack: modern TypeScript front ends (React, Next.js, Angular), Node.js, Go and PHP back ends, and relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) via modern ORMs
- Build, maintain and evolve our AWS cloud infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines and containerized deployments
- Partner with our DevSecOps function to keep infrastructure secure and compliant: infrastructure and container image scanning, managed authentication, and Quest's secure software development standards
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Bioinformatics, Clinical Bioinformatics, QA/RA and clinical stakeholders (geneticists, lab operations) to turn clinical and laboratory workflow needs into reliable, well-tested software
- Contribute to integrations between our internal platforms, external partners, and internal bioinformatics pipelines
- Support regulated software processes: change management, release management and validation documentation for our medical device software
- Follow a modern, AI-forward software development process: use GitHub, Jira, Confluence and Slack to plan and document your work, and use AI coding assistants and agentic workflows as a core part of how you build, test and review software
What we expect from you
We are hoping to find an open and collaborative team member who is eager to learn from others and ready to share their knowledge when possible. You strive for high quality and appreciate the amount of care working with clinical data requires. We hope you are looking for meaningful work and share our passion for making an impact in people's lives. We aspire to find a colleague who fits our easy-going team of skilled and knowledgeable professionals. Our ideal candidate has:
- A BSc or MSc degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related technical field
- A minimum of 5 years of experience working as a Fullstack developer, comfortable owning both front-end and back-end work
- Recent, hands-on experience using AI coding assistants and agentic development workflows as part of your day-to-day engineering practice
- A solid understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL and/or MySQL) and API design
- Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English
- Strong teamwork skills and the motivation to learn from and mentor others
What differentiates you
- Experience with AWS cloud (infrastructure-as-code, container registries, managed authentication services)
- Production experience across both a modern JavaScript/TypeScript framework (e.g. React, Next.js or Angular) and a statically-typed backend language (e.g. Go)
- Comfort building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code with a security mindset
- Hands-on experience with agentic AI development: autonomous or semi-autonomous coding agents, multi-agent orchestration, or tool-use protocols such as MCP (Model Context Protocol)
- Experience designing prompts, guardrails or evaluation harnesses that make AI-assisted development reliable and verifiable, especially valuable in a regulated setting
- A track record of quickly adopting new AI developer tooling and using it to raise your own and your team's delivery speed and quality
- Background in bioinformatics, genomics, or handling large collections of clinical data
- Skills in data visualization
- Knowledgeable of working in regulated environments (e.g. ISO 13485, IVDR, HIPAA)
What we offer
- The opportunity to work in a growing company that makes a real difference. Blueprint Genetics has a clear and motivating purpose to improve the lives of patients and families affected by inherited diseases.
- Hybrid work. We like to see each other in the office every now and then but offer the opportunity to work remotely as well.
- A friendly, flexible and multicultural work environment with great people from different fields of expertise. We are a team of experienced professionals, who collaborate to drive genetic knowledge forward.
- Flexible working conditions and employee benefits such as participation in performance-based bonus payment system, extensive occupational healthcare, sports, culture & wellbeing benefit, mental wellbeing with Auntie, on-site gym membership, team events & office parties.
