Senior Manager, Finance and Accounting
Are you an experienced finance professional ready to make a tangible impact in an international life sciences organization? We are looking for a hands-on and commercially minded finance professional to take ownership of finance and accounting in Finland while partnering closely with colleagues across the international organization.
If you enjoy combining strong financial discipline with business partnering, thrive in an international environment, and are comfortable moving between strategic questions and the details of day-to-day finance operations, we want to hear from you!
About the Company
Blueprint Genetics, a Quest Diagnostics company, is a clinical genetic testing organization aspiring to bring genetic knowledge to mainstream healthcare, benefiting patients with rare inherited diseases worldwide. Though we are part of a larger global enterprise, BpG maintains a close-knit, small-company culture where every team member’s contribution matters.
We are looking for a Senior Manager, Finance and Accounting to oversee finance and accounting activities in Finland and serve as a trusted financial partner to the local management team and wider international organization.
About the Role
As the Senior Manager, Finance and Accounting, you will be responsible for ensuring high-quality, compliant, and efficient finance operations in Finland. You will oversee accounting, financial reporting, planning and forecasting, tax and statutory requirements, cash management, and financial controls.
You will work closely with the Blueprint Genetics management team, providing financial insight and helping leaders understand the financial implications of business decisions. You will also collaborate with the wider Quest Diagnostics finance organization and international stakeholders to ensure alignment with group policies, reporting requirements, and best practices.
This is a role for someone who enjoys both the strategic and operational sides of finance—driving improvements and supporting business decisions while remaining close to the details when needed.
This is a full-time, permanent, and hybrid position with the flexibility to work remotely up to two days per week. Our office is in Keilaniemi, Espoo.
Your Main Responsibilities
Finance & Accounting: Oversee day-to-day finance and accounting activities in Finland, ensuring accurate, timely, and reliable financial information.
Financial Reporting & Compliance: Coordinate monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting, statutory accounts, Finnish accounting and tax requirements, and alignment with Quest Diagnostics' global policies. Support internal and external audits.
Planning & Business Performance: Coordinate budgeting and forecasting and provide clear analysis of financial performance, risks, and opportunities to support business decisions.
Business Partnering: Act as a trusted financial partner to the management team and key stakeholders, providing financial insight, analysis, and practical recommendations.
Tax, Cash & Controls: Coordinate Finnish tax and VAT matters, cash flow, working capital, banking activities, and the local internal control environment.
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, and automate finance processes, systems, and reporting, while contributing to global finance initiatives.
International Collaboration: Partner closely with colleagues across Operations, Quality, Sales, People Operations, IT, and other functions, as well as the wider Quest Diagnostics Finance organization.
External & Internal Stakeholders: Coordinate with external accounting, tax, audit, banking, and other financial service providers as needed.
Our Ideal Candidate
Experience: 7+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, including experience in a finance, accounting, controlling, or finance management role. International or matrixed experience is strongly preferred.
Accounting Expertise: Strong knowledge of financial accounting, reporting, internal controls, and Finnish statutory requirements. IFRS experience is an advantage.
Business Orientation: You understand how finance can support business decisions and are comfortable providing insight, identifying risks, and offering practical recommendations.
Hands-on Approach: You are comfortable discussing financial matters with senior stakeholders while also diving into operational accounting, reporting, and process-related questions.
International Mindset: Experience working across countries, cultures, and organizational boundaries, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a global organization.
Systems & Improvement: Experience with ERP and finance systems and an interest in automation, digitalization, and continuous improvement.
Leadership & Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain financial matters clearly to both finance and non-finance audiences.
Education: A relevant university degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field. Professional qualifications such as KHT or equivalent are an advantage.
Languages: Excellent written and verbal English and Finnish.
Flexibility: Ability to occasionally adjust working hours to collaborate with colleagues across the Atlantic.
Why You’ll Thrive Here
You enjoy being at the heart of finance in a global organization while having the opportunity to make a visible local impact. You are comfortable with change, work independently, and take ownership of getting things done.
You combine strong financial discipline with a pragmatic, business-oriented mindset. You know when to focus on the details and when to step back and look at the bigger picture. Most importantly, you are motivated by working with talented people in an organization where finance helps the business make better decisions and supports a meaningful mission.
What We Offer
Meaningful Work: Contribute to a clear purpose: improving the lives of patients and families affected by inherited diseases.
Impact & Autonomy: A senior finance role where you can shape and develop finance and accounting processes in Finland while contributing to the wider international organization.
International Environment: Collaborate with colleagues across Finland, the US, and other international locations, alongside the wider Quest Diagnostics organization.
Great Culture: A close-knit local team of nearly 250 experienced genetics professionals combined with the resources and expertise of a global healthcare organization.
Professional Growth: Broaden your experience across finance, accounting, business partnering, and international operations.
Our employee benefits include participation in performance-based bonus payment system, extensive occupational healthcare, sports, culture & wellbeing benefit, mental wellbeing with Auntie, on-site gym membership, team events & office parties.
